Periodontal disease is caused by a multitude of aspects including bad oral hygiene, tooth decay, and excessive amounts of bacteria and plaque build-up, smoking is also a cause.

The long term ramifications of periodontal disease results tooth loss, along the way you will experience pain, infection and sensitivity.
